Have you ever been to the Ohlsdorfer cemetery ? Well, it is not necessarily the first choice for a trip with children as questions are probably inevitable. But if the children are still too small for such questions or just big enough already, then you should really explore it one day. Not because of the graves, but rather because the park is incredibly beautiful and has endless walking paths. An opportunity for such a visit is an event which is part of the Long Day of UrbanNature. Leslie Weger explains during two hours, how to make paint from nature. For children and also for adults it is an interesting experience to understand how to make your own paint from earth, stones, spices, flowers, vegetables and fruit. First, the ingredients are collected and while doing so you can sense the beauty of the park. And whilst you of course should not bounce over graves there are enough opportunities to run around. Then it starts with using mortars, sifting, rasping, and tapping to extract the color of the ingredients. Finally, there will be a painting session.

The above link leads you to the entire program and you will perhaps find the one or other interesting event in your neighborhood. This event can be found here on page 7 of the list.
