Daytrip to apple blossom at Alte Land

We simply love this trip and repeat it year in year out. Not only when the apple trees are in full blossom but also later in the year and again when it is harvesting time. But right now it is one of the most beautiful sights we have around Hamburg. The drive takes around 30 Minutes from city center. Take your childrens’ bikes or roller scaters. We’ve had delicious cakes and hot chocolate at the Obsthof Feindt, walked (children cycling) the backroad to Westerminnerweg, took a right and at some stage took another right and walked through another Obsthof back to the main street and back to the car. At another occasion we had lunch at the Yorker Mühle, on its beautiful terasse and testing their ambitious kitchen. They have children dishes but much more important is the dike with the huge grass and the apple trees and no cars for the children to rant around, pick blossoms, climb the dike or run around the mill. You could walk around in the, well, tiny center of York, but it is sooo tiny, that it’s done within 15 minutes. I personally like to take a ride following the curvy Dorfstrasse between Neuenkirchen and Mittelnkirchen or the Buxtehuder Strasse connecting Este with Buxtehude.
