Friday 11th April: Citywalk with kids in Eimsbüttel/Hoheluft

Eimsbüttel and Hoheluft are amasingly beautiful parts of Hamburg, which are inviting you to a nice walk. So check out our kidsfriendly Citywalk:
Pack your stroller, a survival kit and wish for nice weather!

Start at Isemarkt. First highlight will probably be the trainride with the Hochbahn, stop at Eppendorfer Baum. There are elevators installed, an easy way to hop on and off the trains with the Kids-Stroller-Backpacks-Mix.
Isemarkt offers a huge range of interesting stands – also for kids. Check out the goodies of MacaronMaison, the hand puppets of Marion Meinberg, the book stand of Susan Röse (who is a writer for children books) and you should stop by at kinder+raum with it’s ironing applications and wall tattoos. You will find it difficult to walk by Meckman’s Muffins without buying…there might be some crumbs left for Mama, hopefully.
My personal favorit: die Pastafrauen with their delicious homemade pasta.

If you walk further you will come by the Grindelberg, probably with full tummies and bags and hopefully a satisfied and an already little bit sleepy child. Head up north and enter Bismarkstrasse. After the short and noisy Grindelberg road, this street is quiet and green.

Tadaaaa! You are now in the Generalviertel. All streets are named after generals. There are a couple of tiny shops here inviting you for windowshopping. At the corner of Mansteinstrasse/Bogenstrasse is a must-do-event this weekend for the bargain hunters of you: the Shoelittle PopupStore is offering the cutest sommershoes. Or try the Kleine Leute Laden to your north. Also a bit further on is the kids reading club (Leseclub-Hamburg). You can easily entertain your kids after naptime there. On the 11th April they are offering a planting event there for all kids starting the age of 4. Still in shoppingmood? Kleine Kinderkaufhaus are providing a mix of clothes, furniture and gifts.

Do your kids still need an extra excitment after seeing so much cool stuff and really need to run off all the impressions?! The Lindenpark playground is our last stop then. The closest train station is now Osterstrasse.

P.S. If you are still hungry, there are lots of little restaurants in Osterstrasse offering all kinds of foods and nationalitys!
P.P.S Thank you Jenny Sellmann for translating the post!
