Viermastbark_Passat_in_Travemuende-1From April onwards
The port of Lübeck at the Baltic Sea, Travemünde – houses one of the most beautiful sailing ships in the country, the four-masted barque “Passat”. The Hanseatic City of Lübeck saved the ship in 1959 from breaking up, gave him a permanent mooring on the River Trave estuary and put it under a preservation order. Today, the 56 meter high masts of the museum ship are a symbol of Travemünde. Starting in April, you can visit it. In order to provide an extra highlight you can transfer to the Priwall with the ferry from the port. You can eat in one of the many cosy seafood restaurants along the street front row. Or, if it necessarily has to be a playground, then you drive up to the Hermannshöhe (or walk if your children are a bit older). The playground there is really great, you can eat outside and watch your children while romping and climbing. In any case, we also find a simple walk on water banks great, along the promenade there are loads of playing opportunities and at the very end stones lure for climbing. It is mostly a bit windy so taking a kite with you will not be a loss.
