Pony riding is a real treat for most children and a nice place to do so is opposite the restaurant Ponywaldschänke in the proximity of the deer park Klövensteen. Ponies are available until dawn and you should bring a helmet (bycilce helmet is perfectly ok).
The location is best to find if you type the adress of the Ponywaldschänke into your Navi. After the ride (or before, if you wish to use the prospect of riding a pony as a motivation for your little ones to sit still during lunch) the café and restaurants invites to have a cake and coffee or a really fine dinner. The personnel is very children-friendly and the menue has 6 children plates. Ice cream is of course available! A quiet place inmidst ancient trees with good food. We have been there twice and always liked it.
After the break you can go on and explore the deer park Klövensteen. It is the home of pheasants, ferrets, wild pigs, eagle owls, bees, mouflons, fallow deer, sika deer and red deer. The walkways lead through idyllic pine trees and swampy hollows. There is also a nice playground as a last treat for the day. It is open 24 hours and there is no entrance fee.
