Eating in a restaurants with toddlers in Hamburg? If it should be fun for the children, too, that is not really easy. Many restaurants call themselves “children-friendly” when they manage to offer a highchair, some pencils and a kids menue. Well, that is not exactly what I would consider a real advantageous – although – certainly it eases some of the trouble, at least short-term. An example for a very nice offer is the family brunch at the Beachcenter (in summer a great place for outdoor swimming, too!). Logically, they offer the above mentioned minimum package, but the whole restaurant is basically a sandpit. So when it gets boring at the table, you can just let them play with their digger, eat their little sand cakes and – a bit later – play with a ball. And you can actually enjoy eating without having to entertain your little bored monster. Reservation is vital.
