At Pentecost and at the invitation of the lords of Eberhard Bodendiek rugged north men from all over Northern Germany meet at his castle in friendly competition to the ” honorable Lütjenburger sword ” and to sell their goods.

About 100 tents of clans will be erected on the lawn. The Vikings show visitors their skills in sword fighting , archery and ax throwing. At many stalls, the visitor are shown what excellent craftsmen and traders the Vikings and their wives were, they were’nt just the marauding and uncouth sailors. They were experts in weaving , felting, soapstone processing, molding of bronze and tin, basketry, spinning glass beads, construction of knives, bows, arrows and chainmail. Everything will be on display on the lawn. The blacksmith will swing its hammer – always one of the highlights for children. And above all, the battles of the rough Vikings will delight fans, young and old.
And of course, there will be music, dance, food and drink.

Many hands-on activities – especially for children – such as forging, ax and spear throwing, archery, stick bread baking, the dragon Thorkell, pony rides and especially the puppet theater with the mini-Vikings Ask and Embla will serve for unlimitd entertainment.
