Moorbek-Passage

Norderstedt

Autumn is the time in which all the lantern processions take place throughout the city. Some are really grand and even accompanied with a marching band (recommendations will follow – but nothing promised)! This one is a little smaller: the traditional St. Martin lantern parade starts at 6.00 pm in the Moorbek passage, you will than be marching (I would guess along the river banks of the Moorbek) to the courtyard of the fire brigade museum Schleswig-Holstein and it eventually ends at the Paul-Gerhardt-Kirche. At the museum, around 6:50 pm, the most beautiful lantern is awarded.

Maybe the one or other little future firefighter likes to take the opportunity to explore the fire museum? It is open until 6:00 pm – and the walk to the meeting point in the Moorbek passage takes about a quarter of an hour. Here you can admire reeeeally old fire departments and carefully touch the heavy helmets. The hose tower is also impressive for the little firefighter – soooooo high up reach the hoses when they are hung to dry. You can sit behind the wheel of a fire brigade. And outside a (wooden) cow is rescued from a pond and there is also a large playground to let off steam.
